Graduation Ceremony Rehearsal

Tuesday, June 9, 7:30 am – Handsworth Grand Commons

Graduates are required to attend the rehearsal on the morning of Tuesday, June 9. The Grad Parent Committee will also be hosting a breakfast. Please arrive at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast, followed by rehearsal, which will conclude at the end of tutorial (9:10 am).

Grad gowns (including stole and cap) will be distributed at this time. Gowns are custom ordered for each student and are theirs to keep.

Reminder:  All outstanding school fees must be paid through School Cash Online prior to June 9 in order for students to receive their gown.



Graduation Ceremony

Monday, June 15, 7:00 pm – Queen Elizabeth Theatre 630 Hamilton Street, Vancouver

Graduates are asked to arrive by 6:15 p.m. Each student’s grad gown will serve as their entry ticket. Guests must purchase tickets in advance through School Cash Online between April 13 and June 5. Tickets are $10 each and will not be available at the door. There is no limit on the number of tickets purchased, and seating is general admission.


Graduation Banquet

Friday, June 19, 6:00 – 11:00 pm – Westin Bayshore Hotel 1601 Bayshore Drive, Vancouver

This event is open to graduates, their families, and guests. Tickets are $150 each and available through School Cash Online between April 13 and May 8.
Please note this is a dry event. Alcohol is not permitted before or during the event, and there are no in-and-out privileges. As a school event, all Handsworth Code of Conduct expectations apply.

Table Arrangements (coordinated by Ms. Carabetta):
  1. Families purchase tickets through School Cash Online. While there is no limit on tickets for family, graduates may purchase one additional ticket for a guest.
  2. Graduates and families decide who they would like to sit with.
    • ​​​​Tables seat 8–10 guests; a limited number seat 12.
    • Tables of 12 will be assigned by lottery. Students interested should submit the form with all 12 names written out and proof of payment to Ms. Carabetta in person.
  3. Graduates complete the table form (attached), listing all guests (first and last names).
    • ​ Please note: if parents/guardians are attending, they must be included on the form.
  4. Graduates select their top three table location preferences.
  5. Students will sign up for a time slot (May 12–15) via the HSS Grads Teams page to finalize their table selection.
    • ​​Proof of ticket purchase is required.
    • Table selection is first come, first served.

The school would also like to thank this graduating class for their efforts in ensuring that non-school-sanctioned events have not disrupted teaching and learning. We appreciate your continued support in keeping these activities separate from the school setting. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with our graduates, their families, and guests at both the Convocation Ceremony and Graduation Banquet.

​YEARBOOK INFORMATION FOR 2026 GRADS

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY!  


The information here is non-negotiable and all deadlines must be met – no exceptions. 

Late submissions for anything will not be included.  

 

  1. GRAD WRITE-UPS and BABY PICTURES are optional.
  2.  ​​You only get a GRAD WRITE-UP in the Yearbook if you have had a proper GRAD PHOTO in a gown taken at Artona 
  3.  If you do not get a proper Grad Photo with a gown, your Go-Card Picture will be used with no Grad Write-Up.  
  4.  GRAD WRITE-UPS and BABY PICTURES for the Yearbook are due Wednesday, February 4th, 2026. No late submissions will be included. To submit your WRITE-UP and BABY PICTURE, use the QR code or link available in the CLC 12 Teams under the “Grad Yearbook 2025-2026 channel. No submissions to teacher email or yearbook staff will be accepted.   
  5.  GRAD WRITE-UPS can be a maximum of 300 characters including spaces, punctuation, letters, and numbers (NOTE – that is 300 characters, NOT 300 words)Your write-up CANNOT have any abbreviations, initials, slang, social media handles/hashtags, timestamp TV episodes/movies, lyrics from explicit songs, bullying, innuendos, negative comments about the school or anything that is inappropriate for a school publication.   
  6.  You will not be contacted for a second opportunity to re-write your submission, should your write-up be rejected. If you include anything that is considered inappropriate for a school publication, you do not get to have a GRAD WRITE-UPIt will simply not be included, and you will not be notified.  
  7.  You have one submission – you cannot submit a GRAD WRITE-UP and then change or resubmit it – this causes too much chaos and unnecessary work for the yearbook team. 
  8.  Edit your GRAD WRITE-UP and have several people proof-read it! It will be in print forever! 
  9.  BABY PICTURE must be submitted as a high-resolution jpeg. If you are scanning a picture, make sure that you crop it and submit it in the proper orientation. 
  10.  PLEASE get your GRAD PHOTO taken between December 13th-16th, 2025 during the times set aside for Handsworth Graduates. These dates are published in the school calendar. If you need a retake, this must be done by January 30th, 2026 and you will pay an additional sitting fee  
  11.  SHARE THIS INFO WITH ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS!! Too many late submissions did not get included last year. 
  12.  There are 2 sections to the Grad section of the yearbook – make sure you read this carefully so that you know where you will be placed in the book.   

 

There will be no exceptions made for students in terms of where they are placed in the yearbook. You will be placed based on what you submit. Please contact Ms. Kennedy for clarification

​​B)  If NO WRITE-UP is received, yearbook staff will provide a message that will appear instead.   If you have NOT had a proper GRAD PHOTO in a gown, you will be included alphabetically like this with your Go-Card Picture (after those in the previous section).

Deadline to submit a Grad PDA for the Yearbook will be Friday, February 27, 2026
PDA: $42 with 48 spots available for purchase

The Handsworth Yearbook Class is offering the opportunity to personalize the yearbook in a very special way with a Public Display of Affection (PDA) for our graduates. If you are interested in this option, please complete the following instructions by February 27, 2026. Please note there are limited spots available.

 

Email a high-resolution digital image (JPEG format only) and a statement of up to 150 words (no poems longer than five lines) in the same message to handsworthpda@gmail.com. Please include your child’s full legal name and preferred name (if applicable) in the email subject line. Make your $42 payment online to confirm your submission — spots are limited and fill up quickly!

Handsworth Grad Parent 2026 Sign Up

Are you a Parent of a Grade 12 student in the current school year (2025-2026).

Please fill out this Google Form so the grad parent grad committee can contact you about events, volunteer opportunities, etc.

There are a lot of parent-led activities to help make grad year amazing; however, the school is not allowed to share parent contact information, due to privacy concerns.  The first parent grad info meeting will be held after the Handsworth PAC AGM  in May, 2026 Handsworth Grand Commons.
